Capturing patient healthcare outcomes is essential to improve the provision of personalized care and to perceive the quality of the care services provided.

PROMPTLY – Software Solutions for Health Measure developed the first AI-powered clinical assistant (chatbot) to deliver clinically validated questionnaires on patient-reported outcomes measures (PROMs) by phone. The open-ended answers given by patients are automatically matched to default PROM answer options using the capabilities of available large language models and AI algorithms. It was previously developed and tested with a limited number of patients and requires further improvement and validation in a real-world clinical setting.

Within the Pharaon project, we will mount a pilot testing scenario at the North Lisbon University Hospital Centre – a Centre of Excellence in Rheumatologic diseases, which affects circa 60% of older people – to clinically validate the solution and prepare for market roll-out. Furthermore, the technical developments under the AllevAIt project will:

  • stream into a dedicated portal, where patients’ results are digested and shown to caregivers, thus helping the management of one or multiple chronic diseases and
  • accrue clinical evidence, feeding into a clinical decision support system, to help healthcare providers in providing personalized care plans.

This project will instigate the development of novel eHealth solutions, supported by Real-Word Data, while envisioning the wider adoption of Value-based Healthcare models in a competitive and sovereign European Union.
