Dutch Design Week “Up Close & Personal” (19-23 October 2020, online)

Our Dutch Pharaon Pilot will present its co-creation activity and the Ibilight, which was developed based on the challenges formulated by Pharaon, at the Dutch Design Week on 22 October 2020.

“Up Close and Personal” zooms in on design research by the Netherlands four technical universities. It asks: what role can design play in tackling five big themes: Hybrids, Eco-Logica, Living Matter(s), Silent Power and Crisis!

Constraints caused by COVID-19 meant that traditional co-design activities that require being physically present were not possible without endangering the health and safety of older adults. Therefore, the Dutch Pilot entered into a collaboration with a local newspaper Tubantia using the heading “Project Neenzaam”, employing principles of co-design fiction. Older adults were encouraged to come up with solutions formulated in terms of design fiction.
